Dream Scope

199706564695690840_eEftylWN_fTell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dream.~ Paulo Coelho

What is the scope of your reality? What is a scope of reality? It’s a space, a purpose or a goal. Realizing a dream can be a goal. In this case, it’s a sphere of legend.

We all have those moments where we just simply lose sight of our scope, a moment where “things” just happen. Life happens, and we remove ourselves from the scope, from the goal.

Paulo Coelho wrote one of the more popular books of the century titled, THE ALCHEMIST, in which a young boy set out to fulfill his “personal legend” in the form of finding a great treasure. In his quest, many things happened along the way, life happened, sidetracking the young boy at times. In this we can find the most simple truth.

A personal legend is always being written. We write our legends every day. In seeking out our legends, we truly seek out a great treasure, for finding who we are is a treasure in itself.

Recently, my life has had many interesting twists. I’ve been given great muse, great inspiration and great focus. Along with these things also I’ve faced great moral temptation, a test of the heart and a test of faith. I face self-doubt almost always, and I face the distraction of the world every second of every day. It is through these challenges that I remind myself of my personal legend, and of my great treasure that awaits.

When we look into our hearts, we always find the truth. We always find the path, or the way back onto the path. We see without seeing and we move intrepidly without questioning the way. With the heart as our compass, we cannot falter. It is the one instrument that holds the scope of our reality, the map to our treasures and the words of our personal legends.

I see many going through life toiling, testing, trying and giving up. I see too many waking each day with pain and sorrow and I see too many throwing hands into the air in desperate frustration and strife. When the heart is sad, the mind becomes listless and agitated. This is no way to live.

Though we all have our moments, and truly we all need them from time to time, we all have the conscious choice to look upon the day and say, yes, thank you for this day. Thank you for this opportunity to learn, to grow and to once more write the lines of my legend.

One day, I hope to read my own. And, I hope that you all may one day read yours. Our legends await, and upon writing them, so do our treasures.

Life is fruitless without passion, without pursuing and realizing dreams. The scope of this reality lives within us all. Only within the heart can we find our legends and our treasures. Be wise, and follow the trumpet of your beating soul.

  1. Thank you for liking something i had written as it has enabled me to find you and such beautiful words… Be well –

  2. This could not have more on time than it was right at this very moment, even to the point of me being open enough to absorb it. Thanks, man! I don’t really blog anymore, but I owe you one. (Just don’t expect it to be as earth-shattering as this was for me – doesn’t happen often)

  3. I absolutely LOVE this!! When I stopped working full time to start my own business, I had no idea what to expect. If I’d known, I wouldn’t’ve done it. There’ve been many moments of doubt and a few moments of wanting to quit, but my passion keeps burning my heart to move one foot in front of the other. This is a great post!

  4. Thank you very much for sharing these thoughts. I am a few days late reading this post, but the timing is perfect. I needed these words today. Truly, thank you!
