Fantastic painting. Unlike some abstract art, which is purely cerebral and gets blank responses from laymen, yours is sensually bold and rich, close-up and suggestive of both organic and unconscious landscapes. Great colors too. I have a few blog blurbs on modern art; you might like this one: https://shakemyheadhollow.wordpress.com/2012/11/21/the-problem-with-modern-art/
Thank you! Great post too.. Excellent thought on the topic. It reminds me of Wassily Kandinsky and his work, where his overall goal was to merge visual art with music. Essentially, painting sound. If you haven’t read Concerning the Spiritual in Art, written by Kandinsky, You might want to check it out.
Thanks for the tip, Jeremiah. What I know of Kandinsky visuals would make him a great case study on this topic. (I think you and I may have swapped notes on this topic a year or so ago, but I’ve lost track with the juggling of various blogmates.) Gary
