“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
― Rumi
Thoughts are like water, cascading into a timeless pool of choice, decision, want and need. But the first thought was never like this. The true thought is itself timeless, and never knew of so much noise to be muffled by.
And our lives are full of noise.
In this sphere, with our thoughts crashing about “mindlessly” we come to a place of stillness, and to a place of depth that we must all explore to truly know.
This is the deep of the mind, a chasm rarely visited. This is where the thought is born, and where it has always existed. It is the foundation of our own paradox, the very reality in which we live each day. It is where the silent voice that observes sits and watches the loud voice of the mind.
And it is here where we must dwell to know of our own self.
Often we’re given a clear glimpse into our most intimate parts. Other times our most intimate parts are pushed outward for the world to witness. For both instances, we may feel apprehensive, we may even feel a bit of pain.
But this is natural.
Baring the soul can be painful, but it can also be the most freeing.
It is said that during periods of great cosmic shifts and on days of significant astrological activity; these clear images of life sand self can be harnessed and studied. They can become intimate parts of our true self.
Tomorrow just happens to be the day of the longest eclipse of the century.
The blood moon eclipse. It is said that this will be a time of reaching in deep, letting go and acknowledging our truest nature. It is said that this will open a door for us to witness the truth of why we are here, only if we are attuned enough to listen.
It is said that this is a day not of baring the soul, but of witnessing the soul.
And while this day will come and go for many, for others it will mark a time of healing, or perhaps a time of pain. No matter, it will be a day, and there will be an eclipse. Whether or not we’re able to see or feel something magical matters little.
For this day is like any other, and on any day we are able to go into the deep.
But let’s not wait for some special day…
It should be a task that all men undertake, this learning and knowing of self and of soul. For without true self-knowledge we merely spin our tires in the mud of life. We move without movement and operate like automatons; marionettes hung by strings tied to a blind puppeteer.
For all the changes and challenges that we face in life, none will be as difficult as knowing our truest self.
And none will be as glorious as meeting our own soul.
Go with grace, and embrace your life.
Know yourself…
Meet the soul that you are.
Just what I needed today
Glad to hear it! 😊 all the best to you
Thank you
It’s important, to know how to, separate ourselves, from the rest of this outside world, because the outside world gets too noisy sometimes, that it’d, distracted us, from what we’re truly about, and it’s, still way too easy, to lose sight of what we are about, because we give in, to the demands that our external environments make of us…
Very true.. being a part of the world does hinder our relationship with our self, but it is also by this experience where we begin to learn of ourselves.
Beautifully expressed, each sentence here a thoughtful meditation. Taking this journey asks for sacrifices and it may look to others as selfish and sometimes even a luxury to indulge in, especially if there are expectations on how one should be or how things need done within relationships or for a relationship. But isn’t the ultimate relationship the one with the self from where stems all our capabilities to love and fulfill ourselves and therefore others. And there are many ways to it, hope we can stay open to the surprises held within each day of our lives…and appreciate the fine line in perspectives to allow and encourage ourselves and each other on this blessed journey.
Deep thanks for sharing your reflections.
Thank you! And such beautiful thoughts here.. Yes,without knowing ourselves and without self love, we cannot cultivate meaningful relationships. Thank you for your thoughts.. all the best to you on this journey 😊
I must confess I am perplexed by the number of people I meet who just do not know themselves.

I agree.. unfortunately this is not a skill that can be truly taught. But it is a journey that all must eventually embark upon.
It is so true that we do not need a special day to be who we really are – ourselves. Beautiful post! Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely.. 😊Thank you!
